Game changing!
Really amazing device, turns the 1.9 crop factor of BMPCC4k into a 1.35 crop, that's better than APS-C/super 35. The only reason I do not do 5 stars is that on my Sigma 18-35 there is vignetting on the wide end. After all my research, I was not aware of this. The Ultra version can accept full frame EF lenses, I am new to EF so I just didntt factor that in. With the vignette I lose about 3 mm on the wide end because I think it's bad enough. It's good..but complicated
The unit has great benefits if you have high-end EF lenses that you want to use to get pro film results: particularly highly detailed images that Canon EF lenses are famous for, beautiful bokah, and the benefit of added stops to be able to play with light, especially low light situations that you do not want to try and push a camera's ISO. So, there are multiple benefits, and the quality of the glass and construction are excellent. HOWEVER: apparently a recent firmware update for the Speed Booster has sent the electronics into a tizzy when used with the Panasonic GH4; adjusting the aperture may cause the camera to completely lock, requiring you to remove the camera's battery as the only way to unlock it from the hang. There's no complete rhyme or reason when or why it will happen, and ... Such an upgrade from the fourth generation speedbooster !!!!!
This lock on mechanism is tight and secure not loose like the old speedbooster the tcine version is way easier to attach and detach the lenses it locks on the lenses by placing the lens on the speedbooster and turning the metal ring counter clockwise to tighten any lens super fast better build can fit tcine lenses down the road so yay

A must have for any MFT camera!
Metabones’ optical quality is fantastic, and that’s the most important aspect of a device that you have to place between your lens and camera sensor. On top of it, this speedbooster makes the MFT sensor way more usable and closer to a Super 35mm sensor size (slightly wider). Worth the high price tag.
