Was mandatory reading back in the day: 50s-60s. It was one of ever so many books the schools made us read and do reports on. This one among the few that were enjoyed. I have made references from it often over the years/decades yet it has been missing from my personal library all this time. So very glad to again have a copy and will enjoy many more readings of it.

I have been reading now for about 65 years. during that time I have encountered all the great writers and enjoyed the experience of meeting some great literature, but only about five books rise above the herd into the realm of fine art as well as great story. the ability to stomp around in the English language and turn a mud puddle into a shimmering iridescent reflector of sky, wind and stars is beyond the simple knitting of word into fabric. this book would make any similar list, often seen as juvenile literature, it should be viewed in terms of what it shows about how far you can go beyond simply an arrival at greatness. Of course it was Bradbury on a good day, he didnt have any bad ones.
This is an amazing book .. the story is full of excitement wonderful to curl up and read a timeless classic.

This book is written beautifully and the suspense is top notch. I’ve never read a Bradbury novel before, but I am now a fan.
