I like the capacitor board set but there is a pretty wide variation in the capacitor's manufacturing quality. I've noticed that on several of these units that there is typically one or two capacitors that are on the low side on their specifications. However, I have also found a couple capacitors that were on the high side. So about 2% of the capacitors are on the high side, 8% on the low side and the balance or spot on. So for a critical use, one would want to pre-screen these capacitors to build up these units to be more uniformed. As for leakage current, the units that had the low side caps tended to degrade their storage faster. Overall, I like these super capacitors with protection board. My plan is to use them in parallel with outdoor batteries to help the remote gates/lights handle the cold winter environment better. The solar panels will be able to put a charge faster into these capacitors than the batteries in the cold and this should help extend the life of the batteries too. Read full review

The item description was unbranded, yet the capacitors were labeled Green cap Samwha. The leakage current went from 13v to 8 volts overnight. Not impressive at all. However, these work better than typical capacitors in driving loads. The price is significantly cheaper than competitors, which is ok for testing purposes in solar, but not necessarily commercial application. And for my purpose this might be useful even though it is less quality than competitors like Maxwell, Eaton. The voltage levels across each capacitor were not even with 1/2v difference, which is probably not 500 Farad capacitors but something less. The capacitor calculators on-line indicate that this set is 83 Farad, and the 2.7v x 6 = gives the 16.2v total rating. I would recommend parts for testing, experimental but not to be replacement parts. Although, it is marketed as a automotive jump, I did not purchase for this purpose.Read full review

Fast 23 day overseas delivery is not a bad wait, All 6 Cap's stayed within 0.21v Balance of each other while in charge, no single cap exceeded 2.7 Volts while in charge or after full charge, charged cap bank up to 14.2 volts, this is a good balance circuit/PCB setup in my opinion as none of the cap's exceeded there 2.7 volt limit, critical for the longevity of the caps and the unit operation as a whole, This unit passes my testing..! Also want to add that the Packing was good, Bank was shipped in a cardboard box within a plastic bag, also important in preventing damage while in shipment, Excellent..!

This was installed on a pickup truck to help with cold weather starting. It made a noticeable improvement in the speed of the starter, even in warm weather. Hopefully it will also extend the battery's life span because it won't discharge so deeply when cranking. Oddly, it also seems to run and idle smoother (with no other changes to the vehicle). Not sure why, but it does. Perhaps there is less load on the alternator now. Anyway, we will be adding more of these to our other vehicles in the near future.

I used this capacitor bank in a solar powered fountain. The bank stores energy when the sun is too weak to run a pump and the pump cycles on & off between 15.5 v and 9 v. So far the capacitors work great but it has operated less than a week.
