The picture quality is excellent for gaming, photo editing, and other assorted activities. I bought a brand new one for $80, and for that price, there really isn't a comparable monitor of similar quality. It's full 1080p (1920x1080), has great contrast and color definition, and even has quite a few customization options. The stand for the monitor is excellent as well, swiveling well without feeling cheap. The only "problem" with the monitor is its built-in speakers. They're awful. However, if you're spending this much on a monitor and still trying to use the built-in speakers, I have to question your audio setup strategy.

Decided to give this monitor a shot since it was at an unbelievable low price of $49 used ... really glad I jumped on it! The image quality and colors are great for all the photo work that I do .. I had been using my Dell 17" Ultrasharp Monitor since the beginning of time and always felt that I needed something bigger ...the 21.5" screen has proven to be sooooo much nicer than that 17" screen .. by having more data on screen on, I don't have to click and scroll as much .. the only con is the built in speakers .. they are barely audible .. so if you need sound, buy some external speakers with this one ... other than that, I Love It!

This ASUS monitor is an absolute pleasure to look at. Light weight, very easy to set up, has vga dvi and hdmi inputs. I am currently using dvi input with a full 1920 x 1080 resolution which is very clear bright and colorful for any app that I use. I use AutoCad with this monitor with great results. I even use this to play Tiger Woods PGA Tour golf games which look great on this monitor. Screen size not too overwhelming in size but a good size for me as I can focus in very quickly without any effort. Fast refresh rates and load up time is a pleasure. An all around great monitor with appealing looks and functions. I recommend this ASUS model VE228H to anyone looking for a larger upgrade at a fantastic price!
Great value for the price! Beautiful picture quality. I bought it because it accepts all 3 typical video cable types, was priced right and and good reviews for picture quality. The only problem I had was the packaging of 1 of the 2 i bought was very sub par and the monitor arrived with the facia displaced showing the internals of the display. I was able to snap it back on and it checked out fine. The other monitor came in original box and had no issues. Also... don’ buy it for the speakers.
