Practically silent. I installed a Samsung 850 Pro w/16.04 Server coupled w/4 WD 3TB Red HDD and 16GB of Crucial RAM. It runs Plex/Nextcloud/Pi-Hole/etc... smoothly w/no stutter or lag. It sips power- I calculate $20-25 yearly energy cost running 24/7. It can be upgraded to a Xeon and 32GB of RAM if needed or wanted for HT/VM's/etc... Not a powerhouse, but I didn't need/want an R710. If it will suit your needs- buy it.

in industry for 20 years I thought about 10 years ago they quit making cases that would cut your fingers off. the toolless design is good but the edges leave alot to be said. I bought 6 of them to replace specific machines and am disappointed (a little) that most pci lpt ports do not work in this machine tried 6 different manufactures and only one works. memory is a bit of issue as well. Haveno't built rain in one yet but am to 4 once I get drives --will post some then

I used PC with AMD 255 cpu and 2 gb memory. This ts140 have about 2 times performance and 1/3 noise than my old PC in my opinion. You have to prepare USB keyboard and mouse instead of PS/2 in advance.

I made mine into a home server. Added some extra drives and memory I had laying around, and this thing is great! It is very quiet.
