Current slide {CURRENT_SLIDE} of {TOTAL_SLIDES}- Save on A/V Cables & Adapters
For years, I have had the S-Video + audio outs from my cable box connected to a DVD recorder in order to save the occasional standard TV quality copy of a broadcast. My HD TV is hooked up via HDMI through my audio system’s receiver which does most of the switching. Recently my cable box failed and was replaced with a newer model. When doing a transfer to DVD, the TV gets switched to the output of the DVD recorder. The new cable box immediately detected that the TV was no longer connected to its HDMI out and delivered a large text box telling me to use the cable boxes’ YPbPr output. This warning box appears on the cable boxes’ analog outs and on my DVD copy; hence my need for the Connectpro. After cloning my TV with the Connectpro, and placing the Connectpro in-line between the cable box and the rest of my system, the Connectpro prevents the cable box from sensing when the TV gets switched away. No more warning box and good DVD copies. (I am aware that copying cable content can be illegal, but I only copy over the air broadcasts for my own use.) The only bad thing I can say about the Connectpro is that the instructions are terrible.Read full review
